Bayer and Beiersdorf close deal for iconic sunscreen line.

On Labor Day— the unofficial end of summer in the US—Bayer completed of the sale of Coppertone to Beiersdorf for $550 million.    Bayer entered into a definitive agreement to sell the iconic sunscreen line to Hamburg, Germany-based Beiersdorf in May.  Established in 1944, Coppertone was the first sun care brand launched in the US market.
